Melissa Anne Crawford is a mixed media artist currently based in London, UK.

Her art features bright colours, bold gestures, and playful details to reveal abstract artworks inspired by places she’s visited, current events, and personal experiences. Emotions such as joy, serenity, amusement, and love fuel her instruments while the scenery around her influences her colour palette. Nature and human connection through exploration are at the centre of her pieces. She looks inward to capture feelings and express those back to her audience with playful strokes and striking imagery. Melissa is constantly exploring new techniques and studying new skills to flex her creative muscles and find different methods of creative communication. 

Previously working in the financial sector for the world’s largest asset manager, Melissa has recently transitioned to pursuing her artistic passions full-time, reengaging with a long-held belief that art is crucial and a vehicle for joy and fulfilment. Despite the desire from a young age to be in fashion design, Melissa was discouraged from pursuing a creative career path. Instead, she studied fashion merchandising, but didn’t connect to the business side of the industry. Like so many others, she fell into a more traditional office job. She spent thirteen years working her way up the corporate ladder and relocating from Delaware to San Francisco and, finally, to London where her creativity was reignited.
