Glimmering Breakwall

£160.00

My Horizons series is a group of paintings done intuitively with only a horizon in mind and no plan. The resulting works have reminded me of peaceful natural landscapes that bring a sense of both contentment and joy.

One of my sisters lives nearby Wollaston beach and walking along the breakwall reminds me of my childhood. We would drive by the boardwalk all year round to go visit my nana and grandpa. I remember instances where the waves were so high that the ocean water was spilling onto the road. Now as adults, I've spent time walking the breakwall with my sister and we've even ventured on the other side of the road towards the marshes. This abstract reminds me of the hard line of the breakwall, but how the water still manages to penetrate both sides of the road.

Acrylic and wax crayon on grey art paper.
