Nebulous Sandbar
My Horizons series is a group of paintings done intuitively with only a horizon in mind and no plan. The resulting works have reminded me of peaceful natural landscapes that bring a sense of both contentment and joy.
As kids, we thrived on beach days. Often even if it was a little chilly, we were out there swimming in the salty water. If it was super low tide it was exciting because you could venture out to sandbars which made it feel like you were really far out to sea. Often the low tide meant the beach was also gigantic. This piece reminds me of those beaches, sand bars and summer days.
This piece is painted on a tan 18" x 24" art paper.
