This piece was started on a trip in Kalymnos, Greece. I went with a group of climbing friends and we rented a villa with a terrace overlooking the sea. It was about a month before I left my job of thirteen years and it was such an expansive view, that I felt like it was pulling me into the next phase of my life. One morning when I was drinking coffee and painting on the terrace, a group of sheep passed right by the property. It looked like they were playing follow the leader and I was impressed with how adept they were at navigating the rocky terrain. To me, this brings feelings of fun, joy, whimsy, freedom and serenity.
